Bands that share titles of songs
You know, it really sucks when a band re-uses a name of a song or album that is no where near as good as the original. Incubus’s “I Wish You Were Here” is my prime example here. I don’t hate their music, but what the fuck were these guys thinking? I don’t think I need to explain why this was a mistake, but Incubus doesn’t hide the fact that they were influenced by Pink Floyd. Even if they don’t say it, the influence is there—don’t argue it. I got to thinking about this because I’ve been listening to Roxy Music’s “The Space Between”, and I can’t forget the ridiculously bad Dave Matthew’s Band song by the same name. God. Fucking. Dammit. Doesn’t google exist for these Schmucks? My piece of advice is: type in the name, see if it already belongs to a band that’s worth the time of day, and if it does, look for a new one.
